We had an uneventful flight from Guangzhou except for the fact that we lost our 2 cameras, one that had all the video footage of the trip. We have checked with the airlines and they haven't found it, but please pray for a miracle before we head home.
Yesterday we were ready to go at 8:00 am for the celebration and dedication of Maria's Big House of Hope. It is a beautiful facility and many other government officials have toured it with the goal of mutliplying it around China. Robin and Joyce of Hope Foundation, who partnered with Show Hope and the Chinese government to design and build the facility, said it will save at least 100 children who would otherwise not make it. It was also exciting to see Steven Curtis Chapman give the thanks, glory and ownership of it to the Lord!
We also had a good time with Michael and he said he was surprised at how the kids were completely acting like siblings! That's good, until they are so wound that parents have to rein in the two that don't realize that it's not ALWAYS a party! Some good solid eye contact and a firm tone calmed things down! Comes with the territory!
We leave this morning at 8:45 am and have a flight from Luoyang to Beijing that arrives around 11:30 am. Then our Beijing to Chicago flight doesn't leave until 4:15 pm, and it arrives in Chicago at 4:30 pm (oh how I wish it was really a 15 minute flight instead of 12 hours). We don't leave for Atlanta until 8:30 or so, because we are scheduled to arrive at 10:30 pm. It will be a full 24 hours later in duration for us, and we have a large vehicle coming to drive us home. Michael got the girls prepared for all this fun so they would know what's going on! SEE YOU SOON! Thanks for going on this journey with us! I'm SO GLAD we're coming home.
have a great trip back home!!!
