The 4th of July summary: JET LAG!

We arrived home at about 11 pm after a long 24 hours of travel. We were surprised by Chad and Hillery being at the airport to greet us, and they gave the girls American flags! We got home and introduced the girls to Maisy, who truly cried in excited relief to see us! The girls aren't afraid of her but bonding went much better with non-furry siblings! They seemed to love their room, and ran around checking out where Jenna and the boys' bedrooms were. Overall, they just seemed right at home. We put all their things away and introduced them to the laundry room and how that works (they were so surprised not to have too wash their socks out every night!) We were up VERY late, not tired at all, and finally got them to bed at 2:00 am after sleeping on the plane, but were relieved they went right to sleep. They have slept like logs every night! Tony and I had some time to reflect on the trip and truly have been amazed at how resilient they have been through the craziness of all the travel and all the newness of everything. They are very independent, have a good sense about what's needed, and just go with the flow. We finally got sleepy around 4 am - jet lag is going to be a bear to wrestle!

FOURTH OF JULY
They put on their new white shorts and beautiful blue TShirts with red, white and blue sequined hearts and their names embroidered in red, and proceeded to come in to mom and dad's room and not stop saying something like "Chee chung ta!!!" again and again, which I'm sure was the equivalent of "Get up NOW"!!! So, we drug ourselves out of bed at 8:00 am, made coffee with eyes half shut from 4 hours sleep, and listened to Maggie read a book in Chinese outloud. I found out they had gotten their brothers and sister up even earlier, or had attempted to. We were all like "Make it STOP!" :o) We had breakfast out, came back home, and watched our little China dolls crash for 4 hours on the sofa. I finally had to wake them for fear they would be up all night, and have labored hard to keep them awake all day. Their little body clocks have never been on this side of the world and it was a pretty miserable day of having to wake up 15 times. We put together puzzles and played Chutes and Ladders, and tried to take a walk in the back yard. Maggie discovered the playroom and had fun with American Girl Dolls and Barbies. Ginger wants nothing to do with anything girly whatsoever! (kind of reminds me of myself and my sister, Evelyn!) We decided they were just to wiped out to watch fireworks, it's 10:00 pm, they are all clean, and I think I'll put them to bed with an attempt to communicate to not wake anyone up and have some QUIET things to do if they wake up early! Jenna leaves for GoldRush Monday, a 5 day youth event our Senior High youth group host for students from all over the southeast. She's a little concerned her body clock will still be set to China time, so pray for her! I've got lots of pictures to post too now that they're downloaded from the little camera. No news on our lost cameras. :o( It is SO GOOD to be home!
